Before attending massage school, I was studying to become a Social Worker. My decision to leave the University and study to become a massage therapist was based on the fact that the results of helping someone using massage therapy were immediate; massage therapy could make someone feel wonderful within a short time. I realized later that the power of touch went much deeper than the physical body; touch has the ability to facilitate change on the emotional, energetic and spiritual level as well. As a massage therapist, I have noticed how emotional stresses manifest in the physical body. It has been my goal to help people find the link between their mind, body, and spiritual path.
I have been a massage therapist since 1997. I completed my training at the Health Enrichment Center in Michigan where I studied Swedish massage, polarity therapy, pregnancy massage, massage for the elderly, sports massage, PNF, and anatomy and physiology. In 1998 I moved to Portland, Oregon to continue my education in the healing arts. I have continued my education through East West School of Massage, LaStone Source, The Trauma Relief Services in Metapsychology, The John Upledger Institute, Common Roots for Herbal Medicine, and through working with mentors in the fields of flower essence therapy and chi kung.
I have also taught an ongoing energy awareness class which incorporates meditation, artwork, and education of the chakra system. During my free time I enjoy biking, hiking, yoga, making herbal medicine, meditation, Argentine tango dancing, receiving massage and exploring the Pacific NW.
